Category of Employment

 

What is the category of employment?

Ongoing employment does not have a specified date of cessation. It continues until the employee resigns or their employment is terminated by the employing Senator or Member or by operation of the MOP(S) Act.
Non-ongoing employment is for a fixed period. The fixed period may end on a specified date, at the completion of a task or on occurrence of a particular event.
Casual employment is used where the employment is occasional, non-systematic or irregular and there is no expectation or guarantee of continuing employment.
